Long ago, when World War 3 was on the verge of starting, there was a powerful and evil man named Zangon. Drawn to maddness, he sold he's soul to an unnamed god for immortality and the power to contorl Hell it's self. He summoned hordes of fallen angels, and within 10 days time, Eath was he's.
After he safely claimed the world as he's own, Zangon's mind began to play. He began to shift and sake the lands and waters and molded them into a world he now called Iro (color).
He made seven huge bodies of land and named them Aka (red), Ao (blue), Midori (green),Chairo (brown),Murasaki (purple),Kiiro (yellow) and Daidaiiro (orange). Each land had a kingdom, and each kingdom had cities and towns. Only Zangon would be ruler of all.
But the mighty man was not yet down. He wanted the world to be turely he's. Right down to history. So he collected all the text books, all the story books, all the Bibles, Korns, and Old Testmeants, and every other book, then hide them in he's own study. After all of this he finialy turned to he's beloved wife, Kimi, and asked her what was it she wanted most for this world.
Kimi, who was the only person to understand him, said she wanted "Shichi (7)" as a religion. And he, as the world's new god, could have "Vivi Vi (666)" as he's. Zangon apporved of this, and gave her her wish.
One last thing was to be done that would cut the last strings of Earth away. Zangon began to mold new life forms on he's planet. From evles, and fairies, to mermaids and things no one ever heard of even in fairy tales. And he didn't stop there. He even made plants, differnt types of food, and even water that tasted like white grapes. In he's own mind, it was perfect. Just perfect.
After all of this was done, Zangon locked the door to he's study for good, and hide the key. Not even he would enter it every again. The years rolled on, and soon, everything about Earth was forgotten by all except Zangon, Kimi, and one other person...
Chapter 1: The Azarashi
"Lane! Wake up!" yelled Yami. He bundle that stirred a little and then went still again.
Yami sighed, "Why now?" He put he's hug left foot on the blunt end of the bundle and racked it roughly, causeing the blanket to fall off a sleeping young girl.
"Lane get up!" he yelled again, more loudly even though it wasn't really need again.
Lane open her violet grey eyes, looking up at the man that just woke her. Even though she was tried she could see all 6 feet of he's well built frame, not to mention the trible tattos all over he's shirtless body. She looked at he's balck eyes and whined.
"What is it now Yami?" she asked annoyed.
"Time to get up kid. Cap'n Ado needs you in he's cabin right away." he said in he's deep voice. He looked over her for a moment, "You better wear that dress he got you too." With that he left her to perpare for what ever her father wanted her for.
Lane got out of bed and looked at the wall mirrior in frount of her. The last of sleep was leaving her eyes and her long black hair was all over her head. With a heavy sigh, Lane dumped a cold bucket of water over herself.
She dried her hair and tied it into two long ponytails. Peeling off her wet colthes, Lane did as she was told and put on a small island dress which looked like a fairy should wear it. It was the color of wet sand, and held seemed to cover all but her knees and legs. She made sure that her mother's silver dog tags were hidden under the dress and laced up her dresset sandles.
With a great sigh, she walked onto the deck, greeting the wram sun. The fresh sea air seemed to blow all around her and went in and out of her lungs with ease. Lane Arch was fully awake now and ready for the day to began.
The Azarashi saild on the open seas of Uro freel, exploring the unknown and yet the known. Her sails carried the brezze easliy, takes her caretakes wherever they seemed fit.
Crew memebers where busy as uselly, avoiding the word "death" as much as possiable. Looking only at here and now, never really thinking of tomarrow or yesterday.
A boy jumped in frount of Lane, "Hey Lane!" His useaul palyful green eyes shone sadly that morning.
"Morn' Chang. What's new?" she asked, looking at him with ease.
"Nothing much." He looked at her for awhile the lowered he's voice to a whisper, "He's mighty Lord Zangon and Lady Kimi are in there with the Captain. They want you for some reason."
"Why?"
Chang shurged, "Don't know. But whatever it is you better hurry. Shouldn't make a mad god wait. And don't look so piss." He grinned as he looked at he's dear friend's face.
Lane rolled her eyes, "Am I suppose to look happy?"
"No. Just don't do anything stupid." with that Chang grabbed a rope and swung back up to he's work.
Lane sighed then walked past Yami who was wacthing her out of the corner of he's eye while he talk to another crew memeber. She walked past her pet cat, Cast, who was resting in the mornig sun. She walked past Inari, who barked angerly at the captain's door.
Nothing stuipd, she thought to herself. She let out a smile sigh then knocked three times on the wooden door.
The door swung open quickly, and there stood a man with blue grey eyes, strokeing he's rugged black bread as he looked down at young Lane.
"Lane. Good, you're up. " He looked down at the small white dog, "Quit boy!"
Inari quited down, and Ado singled for Lane to come in. They enetered the cabin which was uselly cozy, but that morning Lane sensed the tension was high.
"Ah! So this is her Ado?" said a clam , bone-chilling voice.
Lane looked up to see a man in an all white suit, sitting in her father's sofa chair. He's skin was as white as snow, and he eyes where a very bright blue, and even he's teeth, which he was showing threw a grin, where even as white.
Ado bowed, "Yes my lord. This is my only child." Lane chould help but notice how her father steched the word "only" but bowed as well without saying anything.
"Why she's so beautiful! Such a lovely little angel. Prey tell me young one, what is your name?" asked the man as he looked at Lane.
"My name is Lane Arch." she added quickly, "My lord."
Zangon looked at this child with a wicked grin. Such a young girl and yet already she was as beautiful as any woman he had seen. He also noted the little fires burning behind her eyes. This child would be much fun to play with.
"How old are you?" he asked with great care.
Lane looked at her father, who nodded once then turned back to Zangon, "I'm 10 sir."
This is when she noticed for the frist time a woman standing behind the chair. She wore a medivel black dress and her long black hair was set in twin tails like Lane's.
That must be Lady Kimi, she thought to herself.
The Lord snapped he's fingers and a small red imp appread beside him, "My Lord?"
Zangon pointed to Ado, "See him out please. We're about to began."
The imp shot at Ado with great speed and ruched him out the door before Lane or Ado himself knew what was happening. Lane didn't say anything and stood there looking at Kimi's sad black eyes. She toyed with the end of her dress nervously.
"Now Lane my dear." said Zangon, "We have to talk now."
Lane said nothing, but allowed her eyes to gaze at him, trying to hide her fear, like her father whould've done.
He went on, "Every so years, I grow bored of the normal happenings of this world. So I find a sutble young person to make things more interstaing for me. You, young Lane, are that lucky child." He stood up slowly and walked towards her, "Do you know what that means young Lane?"
Lane shook her head and took a step back, "No sir."
Zangon smiled wideden as he saw her become afrid, "It means I can have some fun today and for the rest of your life." He took roughly by the arms and spun her so she was faceing him, her back to Lady Kimi.
Lane's body tensed as he pulled out a ivory blade and placed the cool metal tip to her neck. Her eyes fell on the handle, which was craved like a dragon skull and pure white. The blade moved slowly donw her neck and between her breast;it lead down to the bottom of her dress and then it cut it right off. The dress fell off her body and she stood there with only her under shirt on.
Zangon patted the nervouse girl's cheek, and kissed her forehed before doing the Vivi Vi sign over her body. He was enjoying ever moment of this and smiled at her as if he was a dear old friend she hadn't seen in years. He began to crave an outline on her uppper left chest. He wacthed as the blood tirkcled down slowly then pressed he's hand on the mark as he said a fire spell. Zangon was impressed that she didn't yell yet.
Kimi wacthed as he husband touture the little girl. She moved closer, knowing that he would make her do her part rather she liked it or not. Lane had tears in her eyes and her lips where press thin. Kimi chould help but gaze guiltly in to the Lane's eyes. What she saw sacre her greatly. For there was nothing in the girl's eyes. She had become nothing more then a blank doll, with pain.
Zangon smiled as he kissed the mark on her chest sudcvetily the turned to Kimi, "My love, it is time."
Kimi sighed heavly as she knelt down and turned Lane to her. She looked at the mark and saw that it was bloodly and swallown. Kimi placed her hand on it and pulled Lane close, embraceing her.
"I'm so sorry little one," she whispered in her ear, "Please, forgive me." With a strounger hug, Kimi said a Shichi pray and then the spell of lighting.
Blue elsetrice lights bounced around the room, leaveing dark marks, then hit Lane right threw Kimi's hand on the mark. Lane let out a long srecem that sounded like she was a dyeing animal. Kimi could hear Zangon laughing madly behind her, enjoying the screams.
This went on for about two hours, then Kimi stopped. The girl body fell limply in Kimi's arms and Kimi placed young Lane on the floor.
With a snap of he's fingers, the imp that took out Ado, brought him back in. Ado saw he's little girl's body and let out a wail of giref.
Zangon smiled as Ado hugged he's little angel tightly, trying to wake her. Kimi looked at the captain then at Zangon. Her eyes went wide with horror as he held the knife over the captain. Lane's eyes open just in time to see the death of her father.
It was so quick that she didn't know what Zangon had down until he vanshied with Kimi, laughing the whole time.
She looked at her father, "Papa? Papa!" she began to cry, "PAPA!"
Yami came in quickly with the rest of the crew. He knelt beside he's captain and slowly pulled the knife from he's back, then filped him over on he's back.
Ado looked up to Yami and smiled sadly, "Guess that's it huh partaner?"
Yami could feel a great weight falling on him as he looked at he's dear friend, "Not till hell breaks loose."
Ado laughed slightly at this and noded, "Yes. All hell has broken loose..." He felt Lane's tears hit he's face and turned to her, "Lane..."
"Papa please don't die!" cryed she. She kept crying as she hugged him around the neck.
"Shh...I'm sorry Lane.." He's eyes meet hers as he pushed her off gently, "I can't take you to Gogutsu like I promise."
She sniffed, "That's okay pa. We can go next year."
He smiled at her sadly , "Right, " he spoke to he's crew as they gathered around him, "It has been an honar sailing the Great Seas with you men all these years. Take care of each other. And take care of Chang and Lane. They'll end up in more trouble sine I won't be there..."
With a deep breath he grabbed Yami's hand tightly and rubbed Lane's tear stain cheek, "I love you all so much. Later." with that, Captain Ado Arch the Thrid died.
Lane and the rest of the crew cried. All accept for Yami who was looking at her upper left chest. Looking at the mark...
It was a half moon.
Chapter 2: Chaos
The trees rustled as the wind shifted quickly. Crows crowed angely as they flew away from their disturbed sleep. A dark shadow apperad from the trees like a great bat, letting it's golden gun shine brightly in the half moon light.
A man far below it was running. Fear could be seen in he's blood shoot eyes as he tripped over a fallen branch and stumbled into a great oak tree. He tried to move in time but it was already to late. The clouds covered what little moon light there was and he sat on the ground, mouth a gap, looking up at he's worst nightmare.
"Please don't kill me!" pelded the rich shabby man. Even he's voice held the fear in he's heart.
The figure rasied it's gun slowly, like a zombie.
The man tried again, "Please don't! Forgive me! I'll give you whatever you want! Money? Do you want money?"
Still the figure did not reply. It just cocked it's gun and aimed.
The man began to cry like a little child, "PLease don't kill me...I'll even give you my family! Whatever it is that you want! Just don't kill me!"
The figure froze in what it was doing and the man thought he was safe with a smile. But as the clouds part no smile was returned. The figure stood a good 5 feet and 9 inches over the man, shadowing every fiber of he's body. It was sleek, clean and pressed its gun right to he's head.
"I don't want you're blood money," it said in a curl yet clam way, "Nor your soiled faimly."
The night sounded with a loud bang. Crows scartted, starled yet agian from sleep. The man's body slumped to the ground with a soft thump as the figure hostled it's gun.
Chaos jumped into the tree tops and began to go south. The fire demon used he's kneen red eyes to see the many tangles of branches of Wakata Forset. He was looking for Zora, the water demon, who allways kept him informed on the missions he was suppose to do.
With he's mind blank, Chaos feet gracefully stopped on a branch. It snapped under he's weight and he went crashing to the ground.
"Shit! Zora stop it with the games already!" he snapped into the night.
A laugh came from in frount of him, "Oh Chaos. You're allways quick to blame others, aren't you?"
Water came from in frount of him and there folted a face in a bubble. THe face was a handsome young man, with golden spikey hair, shape much like Chaos' black hair. He's ears where also pointy like Chaos' only earings went down one ear. He's blue eyes where alive with humor as he look he's friend over.
Chaos simpley jumped to he's feet, letting he's red tenrch coat follow with him. He looked at Zora annoyed, "Would you mind making yourself full."
"Why?"
"Because I'm thristy and you know how I am when I'm thristy."
Zora sighed and the bubble he was in popped. Now there stood a man the same height as Chaos with a black and blue vest on, and black trousers that seemed to be a bit big for him. "Happy now?"
Grinning Chaos nodded, "Lovely. Just lovely mister genie."
Zora rolled he's eyes and snapped he's fingers to revel a water bubble with a girl in it, "WHatever. On to the mission now. You know this girl?"
The great demon looked at it closely. The girl was laying awake on what seemed to be a boat house deck. Her voilet-grey eyes seemed to gaze off into another world.
"Nope."
"You don't?" Zora looked at Chaos with a grin, "Maybe this will help you." He moved he's hand over the bubble and a side picture was shone of the girl when she was only 10. He eyes seemed to be looking right at who ever she was looking at and smileing joylsy.
Chaos looked at her the at the girl on the boat house, "Hey. That's that kid Zangon messed with seven years ago on that ship isn't it?"
"He can be thought folks!" said the water demon sarcastely, "Now her name is Lane Arch. She's 17 now and lives on a pirvate lake near Rokugutsu by herself. And as you know, she has the 'Moon Curse' on her."
"Rokugutsu eh? That's all the way in Murasaki. Hm...What dose he want me to do with her?"
Zora looked at him nervousely for a moment, "Um..well..The thing is that this isn't a mission from Lord Zangon. It's from he's wife."
Chaos raised an eyebrow, "Lady Kimi? Now what where you doing talking to her mate? You know that's aginst the rules."
The demon shurgged, "She came to me. She said that she wants you to lead Lane to the castle for the Threshold games. She wants her to come on her own will."
Chaos thought of this. He knew that the Lady Kimi was a really kind woman, and that she was froce to do things with Zangon that she knew was wroung just like the rest of them. Infact, most of the demons saw Kimi more as a fellow slave then master. Whatever she wanted Lane Arch for, it was most likely for a good reason. He looked at the bubble with Lane still laying on the deck. She was still gazeing upward, but now it seemd she was looking at him. It was errie how she moved some hair from her face and still kept her eyes foucs up above.
"Hm...The Threshold games eh? That's in 7 months. Alot of time between all that. Lord Zangon won't notice my absents?"
Zora looked at him and shook he's head, "Lady Kimi has already told what she wants from you. I'm not sure what else she told him. Nor do I know what's she planing. "
Nodding, Chaos turned to look at he's dear friend. He was smiking and he's eyes shone with more plesure then they ever did before, "Well then let's get a move on."
Crouching to the ground, Chaos body began to from. He's long red coat spread out with he's arms and he's legs pulled into him. Within moments, Chaos flew off in the from of a great egle, calling to Zora, "Meet you there mate!"
Zora sighed and canllced the bubble. He varpize into the night sky, moving along the water currents in the sky. That stupid idoit. He thought to himself.
Chapter 3: "Best be one night"
Inari -now a full grown white husky- barked tirelessly at the two strange figures coming up the path. He didn’t know who or what they were but they weren’t getting near Lane unless Lane herself stopped him. Cast, lazy as ever, just looked at him, licking her black paw amused.
Lane came out of her boat house to see what all the noise was about and saw the two figures coming her way. It was late and the sun was not even up. What could anybody want during this time of night?
“What you want misters? Best tell me while Inari still chained.” She called to them.
One of the two lifted his hat from his head and smiled politely, flashing his white teeth. He had golden hair, spiked in a messy short of way and Lane saw the humor in his deep blue eyes, “Forgive us ma’am. We just be two travelers looking for a place to stay for awhile. We’ve been on the road for awhile, and are hungery.”
Lane looked at him then pointed north of the way they stood, “Just go back down that road and you’ll see the gates of the town.” She turned to leave but stopped when they called to her.
“We would very much prefer if you can give us a place to stay for the night. I’m sure we can pay back whatever you take. What do you say?” The second man took of his hat this time, and was more handsome then the other. Lane felt a chill go down her back as she looked into his red eyes.
For a moment, then teenage girl didn’t move. Then she whistled to Inari who quieted down and motioned them inside, “Best be one night then. Then you leave,” with that she went into the house.
Chaos smirked as he placed his hat back on, “Best be one night indeed Miss Arch. Best be one night.”

Once inside, Lane tossed them both blankets and pointed to the fire place, were two rugs laid, “Okay then here you go. This is a boat house so don’t expect much. Have a nice night.” She vanished up the stairs to her room.
Zora smiled as he balled the blanket into a short of pillow and laid down, “Wow these rugs are as soft as a bed.”
The fire demon just shrugged and laid down, folding his arms behind his head, “Strange how she didn’t as for our names and just let us in.”
Nodding the water demon looked at his friend, “Yes. We best keep an eye on her. Just in case.”
Just in case what? thought Chaos. He remembered what she said to them before letting them in the boat house. Best be the night…Better be one night. Was that fear or just random kindness in her voice? The demon closed his eyes as, and knew that in the morning, he would find out what she really meant.
<~><~><~><~><~><~><~><~><~><~><~><~><~><~>
Already up and about, Lane quickly made breakfast, laid it out, ate then ran to the stroge room. She ignored the two strangers as they ate and watched her with interest. She decided to make Inari eat outside along with Cast, just in case the two decided to have some fun.
Dressing quickly, Lane braided a purpule ribbon in her hair, letting it swing at its will as she pulled up her dark blue jeans, and put on her black tee. She ran past the two again with a box in her hand. She placed it on the table, tied the back of her shirt up in a knot so her belly could be seen then open it.
Chaos finished eating and looked at the girl, “So what are you doing?”
Zora finished as well and looked at Chaos with an amused grin
Lane ruffled threw the bow and spoke, “Looking for things kind stranger. You and your friend here best be getting ready to move on out. I’ll take you two into town and you can do as you please from there.”
They both nodded, watched as the girl grabbed her coat, then turend to each other.
“She’s up to something. I can smell it.” Chaos said.
